• The Bravante Mothers’ Scholarship is a scholarship designed to empower the underserved students in Visalia who need assistance on their educational journeys. We select one rising junior per year and help that student prepare, choose and pay for their college tuition.

  • The application process for the Bravante Mothers’ Scholarship begins when you are sponsored by one of our BMS Team Members. Once that happens, you will be approached to complete a short paper application.

  • At BMS, we are looking for students who achieve in school. However, our candidates are also well-rounded, impacting their communities through extracurricular activities and service. In short, we want students who are involved and balanced, as it shows us they are ready for higher levels of study and the responsibility that comes with it.

  • At BMS, we want to empower our students to dream big and strive to go to the best school possible. That said, our financial resources do have a limit, so we will work with you in order to make sure the school of your choosing is also a match for the scholarship’s board.

  • BMS selects rising juniors for a few reasons. First, we want to get to know you! This scholarship isn’t all about the money - our board wants to provide advice and guidance along your educational journey. Also, we want to help you select classes, get you tutoring, help with college essays and visits and more! BMS offers all kinds of support as you prepare for college.

  • Yes, there are. Just as we expect our candidates to be of the highest quality, we expect our BMS Scholars to be even more so. During their high school years, our scholars must maintain a 3.25 GPA while also communicating with our board on a regular basis. They must be respectful of all of those involved with BMS, most notably the teachers and counselors who are volunteering their valuable free time to assist us.

Once in college, our scholars must maintain a 3.0 GPA and will have meetings every semester to gauge progress.
